WHAT TO WEAR for kids
NOTE: Proper attire is mandatory and taken very seriously — students will not be permitted to participate in class without the required dress code.
🧼 All dance shoes must be clean and designated for indoor use only.
For the safety of our dancers and the care of our floors, outside shoes are not permitted in class.
👯 Ballet
Girls: Level 1&2: Light pink Leotard, pink ballet tights, ballet skirt (optional), pink ballet shoes.
Level 3&4: Black Leotard, pink ballet tights, ballet skirt (optional), pink ballet shoes.
Boys: Fitted white or black t-shirt, black leggings or dance shorts, black or white ballet shoes and socks.
Hair: Hair neatly pulled back in a bun. No pigtails or ponytails.
💃 Jazz / Lyrical / Musical Theatre
Girls: Leotard or fitted top, leggings or dance shorts, jazz shoes (tan or black) ready at all times in dance bag.
Boys: Fitted t-shirt or tank, athletic or dance pants (no jeans), jazz shoes (black preferred) ready at all times in dance bag.
Hair: Secured off the face
🕺 Hip Hop/Breakdance
– Comfortable athletic wear (no jeans)
– Clean sneakers (studio-only, not worn outdoors)
– Hair pulled back or secured
👣 Tap
Girls: Leotard or fitted top, leggings or dance pants, tap shoes (black preferred)
Boys: Fitted t-shirt or polo, black pants or shorts, black tap shoes
Hair: Pulled back
🎭 Acro
Girls: Leotard or fitted top with shorts or leggings, barefoot
Boys: Fitted t-shirt or tank, shorts or leggings, barefoot
Hair: Secured back
🌟 Tiny Stars (1–2 yrs with parent)
All dancers: Comfortable play clothes or onesies that allow movement, barefoot or grippy socks
Parents: Comfy clothes you can move in!
🩰 Petit Stars (3–4 yrs)
Girls: Light Pink Leotard, ballet skirt (optional), tights, ballet and tap shoes
Boys: Fitted t-shirt, black shorts or pants, black ballet and tap shoes
Hair: Pulled back.
👞 Kids Ballroom (Ages 5+)
Girls: Leotard or fitted top (any color), ballroom skirt or dance shorts, ballroom shoes (tan)
Boys: Fitted t-shirt or dress shirt, black dance pants (no jeans), ballroom shoes or black leather-soled dress shoes
Hair: Neatly secured away from the face
WHAT TO WEAR for adults
- Jazz / Contemporary – Comfortable, fitted or relaxed clothing that allows freedom of movement (leggings, leotard, tank tops, fitted tees). Bare feet or jazz shoes.
- Ballet – Close-fitting attire such as leotard and tights, or fitted leggings and top. Ballet shoes required. Hair secured away from face.
- Hip Hop/Jazz Funk – Loose, comfortable streetwear-style clothing (sweats, joggers, tees, hoodies) and clean sneakers.
- Ballroom – Comfortable yet slightly dressier attire (flowy skirts/dresses for ladies, dress pants/shirt for men, or any clothing that allows movement). Ballroom or Latin dance shoes recommended; low heels or smooth-soled shoes are fine for beginners.
- Heels – Comfortable, form-fitting clothing (leggings, bodysuit, or fitted top) and dance heels.
